The entire premise
Candy’s synopsis is two sentences long and trails off in an ellipsis. A maid is hired by a wife, who then heads to her job. Nobody else is home from nine in the morning to eight in the evening, just the husband and the woman his wife picked. The three dots are left to say the rest.
What works in its favor
Even a premise this bare has a couple of points on its side. The irony comes built in: the wife chose the maid herself, so the temptation arrives with her approval, however accidental. The hours are also strangely precise, covering most of the day, and the synopsis plainly wants that detail noticed.
Keeping it all at home makes things simple and close: a single house, two people and a spouse who is out. This is the classic maid fantasy stripped down to its barest version.
