What the synopsis says
The narrator here is the man who gave his word. His best friend begged him to keep his daughter clear of men who were bad for her, and he said yes. Then comes the irony the synopsis ends on: he is one of those men, and his friend never saw it coming. Guilt is built into the hook, which fits in a single line.
The source of the tension
What drives this premise is the friendship more than the daughter. Each move the narrator makes betrays a man who trusted him, which gives the story more weight than two strangers meeting by chance would. Telling it in the first person also points to a confessional tone, from a narrator who knows full well what he is doing.
Besides Taboo, Candy gives the series a Maid tag, and nothing in the synopsis accounts for it. Perhaps it hints at how she comes to be around his house; that is our reading of the tag, not anything Candy says.
Where it falls short
The moral tension is real, but the plot on paper is thin. The synopsis mentions no discovery by the friend, no rival and no ticking clock, so five episodes appear to hang on a single forbidden situation. The idea of a guardian who becomes the danger is also common in adult fiction: it works, but it is not new.
