The situation
Visiting your girlfriend’s dad ought to be a courteous, forgettable afternoon. It is not, because his gorgeous partner, Holly, turns out to be wearing a bikini that is struggling to keep up, and the pull you feel is instant and entirely forbidden. Candy’s synopsis ends right there, with a wistful “if only” in place of a plot.
Look again at the title. It describes the hero the way Holly would, as the boyfriend of her stepdaughter, a hint that her point of view counts for as much as his.
Is there much of a story?
Judging by Candy’s own summary, not much. You get a location, an off-limits pairing and plenty of heated language, yet no rule, wager or twist to carry five episodes. The Cuck tag hints that the father could be more than scenery, although nothing in the synopsis confirms it. This series puts atmosphere first, which is no problem if you expect it. For some viewers that is the whole appeal: no convoluted pretext, only a tense situation and a family that must not find out.
