What the series is about
He is broke, so a room listed at a price that looks almost too low is impossible to turn down. It comes with two gorgeous housemates who, without telling him, have bet on which of them can seduce him first. Candy’s synopsis then adds a warning that things are not quite what they appear, hinting at more than the wager.
Why the setup is promising
- A race with a winner. With two housemates chasing one man, the series effectively keeps score, and a rivalry like that escalates naturally over five episodes.
- A red flag up front. The bargain rent is a clever detail, because the audience senses a problem long before the hero catches on.
- A twist on the horizon. The line “not all is as it seems” is hazy, yet few synopses offer even that much, and it gives you a reason to carry on after the free episodes.
The catch
Promising a twist is not the same as delivering one. Nothing in the synopsis says what the surprise might be, and roommates making a bet is well-worn comedy territory.
