Candy’s pitch for the story
Her billionaire boss orders a new intern to stay late at the office. Once she does, he throws her presentation in the trash and puts one pointed question to her: what is his name? Then the synopsis skips forward. When his partner gets to see a video of what went on, the intern has already figured out exactly what she is worth.
The blurb reads like a trailer, with two scenes, a gap in between and a closing line that hints the tables will turn. That makes it more intriguing than most of the one-line premises on Candy.
Why it’s worth a closer look
A pair of details raise it above the usual boss fantasy. One is the partner: a person outside the office watches a video, so the affair now has a witness and consequences. The other is where the intern ends up. She begins as the target of humiliation and finishes as someone who knows her own value, which points to a shift in power rather than one fixed dynamic all the way through.
The drawback is that the synopsis stays deliberately cagey about how the video comes to exist or what she does with the leverage it hands her. What you pay for is the promise of a twist, not an account of it.
