What the story sets up
The synopsis speaks straight to you and wastes no time. Your fiancée has said a flat no to any bachelor party, which means no strippers, no big night out and no last fling before you marry. Her mother sees things differently. She has planned a private party for you herself, one you will have to keep secret for good.
Really, this is a gag with a setup, and the title already spoils the punchline. The clever part is the role swap: the woman you would expect to protect the wedding is the one arranging to put it to the test.
What works, what doesn’t
Few Candy characters are as dependable as the future mother-in-law, and tying her to a bachelor party hands her both a reason and a ticking clock. The mood comes across as cheeky rather than grim, a good match for five short episodes.
Originality is where it falls short. Another Candy series is built on almost the same idea, and this synopsis leaves out what the party actually involves and whether the fiancée ever learns of it. What you pay for is the scenario, not suspense.
