The story
Isabella works as a journalist, holds a strong faith and leads a calm, well-ordered life. Then an assignment brings her face to face with Manalo, a rockstar whose reputation precedes him. His charisma and defiance tug at her, and she starts to question the beliefs her whole life rests on. The synopsis on Candy ends at that point, leaving everything after it to the episodes.
Not your usual Candy series
Most of the catalogue works differently. The premise works as a character study, in which a woman of strict habits encounters someone who stands for everything she has steered clear of, and the question is whether she will change. The title’s “revelation” concerns her, not a scenario.
The running length backs that up. Seven episodes put it above the usual five, and no other series on Candy has exactly seven. That extra space fits a story about a gradual change better than one about a single encounter.
What gives us pause
Few synopses on Candy are as reserved as this one, and there are no Candy tags to signal the direction. Some viewers will welcome that; others will want more information before spending tokens.
