What the story sets up
Having strayed from her billionaire husband herself, a wife tries to catch him in the act by paying a gorgeous masseuse to seduce him. The twist sits in the second half of the synopsis: he is already a move ahead of her. Each stolen moment with the masseuse feeds his payback, a trap built to strip his wife of everything she has.
What sets it apart
Few Candy series have a premise that reads like a thriller, and this is one of them. You get a plan, a counter-plan and someone plainly headed for a fall, and the question of who is trapping whom has flipped before the story even begins. Most five-parters hand you a situation; Honey Trap in Silk hands you a scheme, and that counts for something.
- Everyone has an agenda. Wife, husband and masseuse all play a role in the plot, though the synopsis never spells out what the masseuse herself is after.
- Built around revenge. The husband’s scheme gives the story a direction and, one would assume, a payoff by the finale.
- A fortune on the line. With a billionaire’s money involved, the stakes go well beyond bruised feelings.
Length is the one caveat. A double-cross needs room, and five episodes do not offer much of it, so expect a tight take on the idea rather than an elaborate plot.
